Starting a new programme is exciting. Subliem organises one of the most Sublime introduction periods at the VU, where close friendships are formed and you get to know the year group that will make the rest of your studies a lot easier.
On this page you will find all the essentials for the start of your new SBI programme and what Subliem can offer you along the way.
S.A. Subliem is the study association for Science, Business and Innovation. Study associations exist to support students during their studies and to organise social and educational events.
Because SBI is a relatively small programme, Subliem is a fairly small and therefore close-knit association. Nevertheless, Subliem is a very active association with many well-attended activities. By spending a lot of time with your fellow students, your studies automatically become more fun and easier.
The Autumn Weekend of Subliem is one of the most fun weekends away that we organise. Not everything can be said about the programme, but we can guarantee it is an unforgettable weekend where friendships for life are made and stories you will never forget are born.
At the central book sale you can buy your books at a discount (if you are or become a member) and take them with you straight away.
This is also the moment you receive a tag from us that gives you access to all the food and drinks provided in the Members' Room.
You can register online with S.A. Subliem. This gives you the right to a discount on books, access to all events and all other benefits provided by the association.
For communication about all events, discussions about course content and questions among each other, Subliem uses several channels.
Among others WhatsApp groups per year, for the whole association and for active members.
We also use Facebook, Dropbox and Instagram to share content, study materials and events.
The first year of SBI consists of many different courses with different perspectives. The idea is that these form a basis for the courses in the second and third year, which go into considerably more depth.

First of all, a warm welcome to all (pre-)Master students who have come over from another programme! For many of you the channels of Subliem are not clear, which is why we explain them here. Subliem is not only there for the bachelor, but also for the SBI master. Becoming a member for your entire Master costs only €14. You also receive a tag to get snacks and drinks at Subliem at the VU. The same amount applies to the pre-masters and it then continues for your entire master. You can register at become a member.
At Subliem, you will gain access to several career events like the AICFandICD. Furthermore, there are multiple activities which you can take part in, like barbecues, so called “borrels” and several trips. There is even a commission specially for master students, the MasterCie, in which you can take part to help with the organisation of these activities.

This year a master introduction day is organised on 28 August, and during September various introduction activities will be organised for the whole SBI programme. During these days you get to know your fellow students through all kinds of different activities.

As member of Subliem it is possible to get a discount on study books at the VU bookstore. The discount you get is higher than if you would use any other website. Your books can be purchased at the bookstore or online through the site of the bookstore.
Every year at the start of period 1 a sale is organised for first-year students where the most important books for the first year are offered.
