Herleving van de MasterCie

After two Subliem years with Corona, we have brought back old sublime traditions this year, such as drinks in the old and cozy way, a beer cantus with the AC and the well-known Christmas dinner could take place in the Tuinzaal in the old-fashioned way. This year there was also room for a career event without measures.

Third Lustrum of the S.A. Subliem

This year we were able to organize the third lustrum of our association together with the Lustrum Committee. We were able to enjoy new and old Subliemers who were allowed to dine together, party and provide a lot of fun. By spreading the lustrum over the entire year, as many people as possible were able to enjoy this fantastic year full of unforgettable activities.

Introduction hard seltzer

One of the absolute highlights of our board year was the Innovation Study Trip to CERN. Together with a group of Subliemers we travelled to Geneva, where we were able to take a look at the world of groundbreaking research and innovation.

Active member retention and recruitment

This year we put a lot of effort into attracting, retaining and connecting Subliemers. With a full agenda of activities, drinks and other fun, more and more members found their way to the association and many became active. The house-hunting chat also proved a hit: new students helped each other find a room while getting to know Subliem at the same time.

Professionalisation of external events

Outside the walls of the members' room we also took great steps. Thanks to a record amount of acquisition, we expanded and professionalised our external offering. In addition to familiar activities such as in-house days and career sports days, this year we organised the Health & Tech Day for the first time.

Upgrade of the Green Heart

Every member knows the Green Heart. After years of intensive use it was time for an upgrade. With new furniture, gadgets and a fresh coat of paint, the members' room feels more like home than ever. Whether you drop by for a study break or just for a toastie and a beer: the Green Heart remains the beating heart of Subliem and the place where many a Subliemer lingers just a little longer than planned.

Traditions returning after Corona

Due to the complications of this year and with that the lack of a real introduction week, board XIII has established the introduction period in which the whole month of september is used to introduce the new first years to Subliem.

Third Lustrum of S.A. Subliem

This year, together with the Lustrum Committee, we were allowed to organise the third lustrum of our association. We enjoyed new and old Subliemers dining, partying and creating a whole lot of fun together. By spreading the lustrum over the whole year, as many people as possible could enjoy this fantastic year full of unforgettable activities.

Introductie hard seltzer

The introduction of the many different flavours of hard seltzer in the members' room initially caused quite a stir among some members. However, the fridges were emptied faster than ever, and the introduction of hard seltzer turned out to be a huge success and a very good addition to the Sublime assortment.

Three-day master introduction

To improve bonding between the SBI master students themselves and with Subliem, together with the MasterCie we organised a three-day master introduction. It took place in the second week of lectures in September, during which the masters did various activities across Amsterdam.

First edition of the Consultancy Day

In June the first edition of the Consultancy Day took place. A new career event in cooperation with three other study associations from Utrecht, aimed at large consultancy firms.

Introduction of a healthier assortment

To also give our members a few vitamins, we introduced a fruit bowl and expanded the toastie assortment with wholegrain toasties.

Extension of the introduction period

Given the circumstances of this year and the lack of a real introduction week, board XIII created the introduction period. During it, the month of September is entirely dedicated to introducing the new cohort to Subliem.

Subliem Summer Camp

In the summer of this year there was a Subliem holiday for the first time. A midweek to the always sunny Noardburgum full of games, competitions and above all good fun.

Not being an unlucky number

After the outbreak of Covid-19 and all the complications that came with it, such as the closing of universities and the cancellation of many activities, we unanimously decided that 13 is not an unlucky number.

Update ledenkamer

This year, we have updated the commen room of Subliem in cooperation with the ProgressCie. There are new barstools, freshly painted walls and a storage place. Come over and take a look!

New website

Board 12 has updated the website in its year-long term. A new design, new content, but above all a much better functioning website is the result. If you have ideas or suggestions, please mail to mediacie@subliem-vu.nl.

Introduction of the payment system Twelve

As XIIth Board of S.A. Subliem, we found a partner for a new payment system in our common room. The introduction of Twelve provides more flexibility, easier payments and less credit debt for members.

Introduction of the monthly mail

With the introduction of a monthly mail, all members receive a monthly news digest with an update about matters within the association, planned activities and other changes.

Introduction of the toastie

Although it sounds like a small addition, the cheese melt has been the second most popular product in Subliem since its introduction.

Introduction of spirits

With the introduction of spirits at borrels, drinks at Subliem have become a lot more luxurious and refined in taste. Several cocktails are available at borrels.

Introduction of Blieep

With the introduction of blieep, the paper tally list retired as a payment option in Subliem. Blieep was a self-tinkered, yet sophisticated payment system with many options and features.

Building a new bar
