Activities Committee

Activities Committee

The activities committee (AC) organises a different activity every month. Not only do they organise “gezellige” activities like movie nights, paintball or bowling, they also have educational activities like going to a museum.

Highlights of the successful activities of the AC through the years:

Kerstdiner

Every year the activities committee organises the notorious Christmas dinner. During this dinner the most talked-about, unique and beautiful moments of the year are discussed over a delicious dinner for more than 50 Subliemers

Date diner

Because the dinners of Subliem are so popular, the AC decided this year to add a Date Dinner, and with success! Besides good food there were also many successful dates.

Beerpongtoernooi

The activities committee also organises other activities every year besides the traditional ones (e.g. spring dinner, intro dinner and Christmas dinner), including a cosy and fiercely played beer pong tournament.

BorrelCie

BorrelCie

This vivid committee is responsible for all “gezellige borrels” that take place twice a month. At these borrels, the BorrelCie prepares the common room, cooks a delicious meal and, most importantly, provides everyone with the beloved liquid gold.

Highlights of the successful drinks of the BorrelCie through the years:

VVV-PrekoningsdagBorrel

The drinks where you can not only drink with fellow Subliemers but also bring your friends from before. They can finally see where you spend all that time.

OktoberfestBorrel

Dirndls and steins take centre stage at these drinks. Many men and women put on their best dirndl and fill many steins until the early hours.

AftertentaBorrel

When the Subliemers have had to exert themselves for a week to take their exams, they can let themselves go completely at the after-exam drinks.

OP=OP Drinks

At the end of every academic year the pantries must be empty, so the last drinks are OP=OP: everything may and must go.

FeestCie

FeestCie

The FeestCie is the committee that, like the name tells you, organises all parties for Subliem. Most parties are organised in cooperation with other study associations of the VU.

Highlights of the successful activities of the FeestCie through the years:

Dies Natalis

On this festive occasion the association celebrates its birthday. A big party that the VVV-ers (prospective students) are often allowed to enjoy too. In recent years we celebrated it at the disco dolly, with boat trips on the Amstel, and this year again a great programme will be served.

Koningsdagboot

On the most orange day of the year we swap the lecture benches for the water! This year we have arranged a legendary King's Day boat where you and all your friends (and VVV-ers) can make the Amstel unsafe.

IntroCie

IntroCie

This enthusiastic committee organises the intro month and the intro weekend. That way they introduce all new first-years to the fun of Subliem! All activities take place in September and both sporty and social activities are organised. You can already sign up for the IntroCie 2026 via intern@subliem-vu.nl.

Unfortunately, there is not that much we can say about the introduction weekend. Everything that takes place here, you’ll have to experience for yourself. We can assure you that it will be unforgetable and you’ll make friendships for live.

MasterCie

MasterCie

The Master Committee is the committee for the SBI master's students and organises various activities especially for them.

The MasterCie organises activities for SBI Masters, including the Master Introduction Days. The MasterCie is a mature committee that covers several areas. Towards the end of their studies, masters are often already working more, and the actual introduction to the job market is near. This potential is often very relevant to business relations and career events. Besides this more business side, the MasterCie also organises social activities so that Masters can get to know each other well and friendships are formed.

Highlights of the activities of the MediaCie:

Posters

Many activities and events take place within the association. To promote these events as well as possible, the MediaCie designs posters and banners that can be distributed via social media and by hanging them in the members' room of Subliem.

Website

The MediaCie is also responsible for maintaining the website. They will provide new content.

Foto's

The MediaCie is also present at all events to take photos, so that all moments can be captured. The photos can be found on the photo page.

Subtiel

Every quarter the MediaCie, together with other creative Subliemers, publishes the Subtiel! A magazine full of stories, memories, riddles and photos. A great summary of the past years!

This creative committee was brought into being in 2019 for every year, after the lustrum year II (2017). This is because every year of Subliem is one to never forget. The AlmanakCie is responsible for making a beautiful reference book in which the whole year is recorded.

SkiCie

SkiCie

An annually recurring ritual: Subliemers in the snow! Skiing or snowboarding for a good week, lunch on a terrace and partying in the evening! In 2020 we are going on a winter sports trip again, the location is yet to be announced. There is something for every winter sports fan: beginners can make their first descent and for the advanced there are some more challenging slopes.

Highlights of the successful trips of the SkiCie through the years:

Les deux Alpes

In 2020 the ski trip went to Les Deu Alpes. Over 26 enthusiastic Subliemers braved the snow there.

Risoul

In 2019, 28 Subliemers went to the beautiful Alpine area Risoul. This was a cosy and festive trip. Besides skiing, après-ski was of course the main activity, where the Yeti could not keep up with the pace of Subliem. Every evening the bottles of rosé were empty.

St François-Longchamps

In 2018, 30 Subliemers joined the SkiCie to the St François-Longchamps area. Here we made both the slopes and the après-ski unsafe. After 8 days of plenty of sun and skiing it was time to return to our little frog country.

Sofia

In April 2018 the TripCie organised a trip to Sofia. Never before were drinks so cheap on a night out, there was a special floor for Subliem in the hostel and there was a unique graffiti tour of the city.

Hamburg

In autumn 2019 the TripCie went to Hamburg with a group of Subliemers. They travelled to bustling Hamburg by train to experience a weekend full of drinks, hamburgers, German bratwurst and endless fun!

ProgressCie

ProgressCie

The ProgressCie is the committee that helps with building in the Subliem common room. Together with the board, the PC has a couple of “klusweekenden” to repair or renew the room. Next to that, the PC comes with new inventive ways to upgrate the common room like new bar stools and electricity boxes. The PC is also seen as the shadow board and helps where necessary.

Beyond that, it can never be said with certainty which people are part of this committee.

Next to activities, Subliem also organises carreer events. The committe external affairs (CEA) preserves in cooperation with the chief of external affairs a relationship with the active and passive network of Subliem. The main goal is to support Subliemers with the build up of their own network and to give them a look at the work market. The CEA achieves this with workshops, seminars and the carreer events ICD and AICF.

Sponsordeals

Many companies are looking for students who find it interesting to work within their company. The External Relations Committee brings these companies into contact with students, for example by posting vacancies on our social media channels.
